Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said the government is taking a very strict stance on the ‘mob’ violence. No one will be allowed to stay in the area by doing wrong. Action is being taken against them. No matter how powerful the culprit is, he will be found and brought to justice.
The Home Affairs Advisor made these remarks to reporters after visiting the Industrial Police Headquarters and Uttara Purba Police Station in the capital on Sunday afternoon. The government is taking a very strict stance on this issue. Seven people have already been arrested in an incident in Rangpur. Anyone who commits wrongdoing will no longer be able to stay in the area. He will be found and legal action will be taken against him. If anyone is involved with the mob in the future, he will also be brought under the law.
Stating that earlier, when mobs or similar crimes occurred, he did not receive much news, the Advisor said that now, thanks to the media and information technology, all information is available quickly.
Responding to journalists’ questions regarding the national election, the Home Affairs Advisor said that creating an environment for elections is not only the job of law enforcement agencies.
